Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival in Kilimanjaro and Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you meet our representative and head to Arusha; if the skies are clear, you may be treated to a view of Mount Kilimanjaro along the way. Settle in at your own pace. A city tour or other activities can be arranged on request. Overnight at your hotel on a bed-and-breakfast basis.
Arusha to Tarangire and Lake Manyara
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant population, and begin a game drive on entering the park. Lunch is at a lodge inside the park, followed by an afternoon game drive. At sunset, drive to the Lake Manyara area for your stay.
Lake Manyara to Central Serengeti
After an early breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park through the Karatu Highlands and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving in time for lunch at camp. Enjoy your first game drive in the Serengeti before dinner and an overnight stay.
Central to Northern Serengeti
A full day of game viewing from the central Serengeti to the north, across savannah plains, rocky kopjes and riverine landscapes, with lions, elephants, giraffes and, seasonally, the Great Migration herds moving towards the Mara River. Lunch is a picnic; arrive at camp in the evening.
Northern Serengeti National Park
A full day of game viewing in the northern Serengeti, or sunrise and sunset game drives with lunch back at camp. The Serengeti offers a chance to see the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino.
Northern to Central Serengeti
After breakfast, drive back to the central Serengeti, arriving in time for lunch at camp. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park until the evening, then dinner and an overnight stay.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara
After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend to the crater floor for a morning crater tour. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world, with forests, marshes, lakes and springs, open grasslands and some sand dunes. Lunch is a picnic. Afterwards, drive to the Lake Manyara area for dinner and an overnight stay.
Lake Manyara to Arusha
After breakfast, check out and drive through Lake Manyara National Park with a game drive as you head to Arusha, arriving in the afternoon. You are then dropped off at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
