Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival in Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you meet our representative, who assists with your luggage, and enjoy welcome refreshments with your driver-guide before being driven to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast at the hotel (you may use your room until 10:00 unless arranged otherwise), drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant population, with grasslands, swamps and floodplains fed by the Tarangire River. Arrive in time for lunch at camp, then enjoy an afternoon game drive.
Tarangire to Lake Manyara and Karatu
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions, and begin a game drive on arrival. Lunch is at Lake Manyara Tortilis Camp, followed by a game drive until sunset, before you drive to the Karatu Highlands for dinner and an overnight stay.
Karatu to the Serengeti
After an early breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, beginning a game drive on entering the park. Lunch is a picnic, and you continue with game viewing on the way to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Full day in the Serengeti
Spend the full day game viewing in the Serengeti. In the rainy season, migrating herds can be found across most of the wide plains. Choose a full-day game drive with picnic lunch boxes, or sunrise and sunset drives returning to camp for lunch. The Serengeti offers a chance to see the Big Five.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater and Karatu
After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend to the crater floor for a morning tour. The crater is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world, with forests, marshes, lakes, springs, open grasslands and some sand dunes. Picnic lunch, then exit the conservation area and drive to the Karatu Highlands for dinner and an overnight stay.
Karatu to Arusha
After breakfast at the lodge, drive back to Arusha, arriving in the afternoon for lunch, then be dropped at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
